The ministry of railways has been implementing new policies and introducing new ways to better the services, and their latest effort has been to provide a portal for passengers to put forward their grievances. The minister of railway Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu in the year 2015, launched a web portal and railway complaint android app to help make passengers reach out to the railway authorities with any complaint that they may have.

Railway Ministry Complaint Process – Four Ways To Register
1. Filing A Complaint From The Website
The web portal at www.coms.indianrailways.gov.inwelcomes you with three options. Choose the first option Register Complaint and Suggestions. Once you click on it, you will be directed to a page where you will be asked to fill in details like your name, contact details, the date of the incident, the place where the incident took place, the details of the event and your complaint against it.
Most importantly, you will be asked to choose from the drop-down lists that cite several categories, the complaint category that matches your complaint. It helps the authorities at the other end who are monitoring the complaint messages to sort them quickly and direct them to the concerned authorities for quick actions to be taken. If you want you can also attach a photo with your complaint before you input the captcha and hit SEND.
The ministry of railways maintains that you can use this web portal and app to send them feedbacks as well.
2. Filing A Complaint From The App
You can download the app for free from the website www.coms.indianrailways.gov.in. From the app, you can fill in the required details as mentioned above and send them. The app is linked to the web portal and be assured the railway authorities will receive your complaint.
3. Filing A Complaint Through SMS
You can even submit a complaint through the good old texting. Along with your contact details, you have to include the train name, boogie no, and coach no, PNR details, date of the journey and the details of your complaint before you send it to +91-9717630982.
4. Filing Complaint Through Railway Twitter Helpline
Use the power of social media and register complaint on twitter itself. These days, even Railway Administrations of different division and zones very active on social media to address the grievances of passengers and stakeholders. You can directly reach to Railway Minister’s twitter account and tweet him your grievances, or else you can tweet to respective General Managers and DRM (Divisional Railway Managers).
